A ritual being performed to craft an item

Rituals are used to craft certain items, transform or summon mobs.

The Dark Altar is the centerpiece of most Rituals. Before anything, the Altar must be placed above a Cursed Cage.

The Cursed Cage send soul energy to certain devices such as the Dark Altar as mentioned, provided it has a totem or transfer gem inserted in it.

By using a Dark Altar, you may craft a certain item or summon a creature depending on the blocks and items surrounding the Altar. Unlike other schools of magic, these blocks do not need to be arranged in a certain order for the ritual to function.

An example of how to perform Animation Ritual. The blocks don't need to be placed like this, just placed within 16 blocks of the Altar.

What matters is the certain amount of certain blocks are within the Altar's 16 block radius. Ritual Types can coexist within one another so long as it's within the Altar's radius.

Ritual Types can be added together so long as their requirements are met, meaning it's possible for one Altar to have both Animation and Forge Rituals at once.

To begin the ritual, you must filled the pedestals first with the required items before placing the Altar's item. When the ritual is ongoing, the Altar will siphon soul energy from the cage, so you best make sure it has enough of it before enacting a Ritual. The Pedestals can be used for decoration.

Sacrifices

Certain rituals demand a sacrifice to complete. The altar will emit flame particles to indicate that it needs a sacrifice in order to progress. A sacrifice is made by killing a designated mob within 8 blocks of the altar.

Conversion

A ritual can transform a mob into another. The ritual requires a designated mob within the 8 blocks of the altar, where it would transform once the ritual is completed. The mob must still be alive, or there's another mob that shares the same type nearby, for the ritual to complete.
