Dark tools are a set of items made from dark metal ingots. They are able to self-repair using soul energy.
Obtaining
Dark tools are made by crafting them on a crafting table.

Repairing
A dark tool can be repaired on an anvil with dark metal ingots. They can also be repaired by combining two of the same type of items together in a crafting interface, or grindstone.
Usage
Dark Tools perform the same functions as their vanilla counterparts.
Self-Repair
If the tool is in the player's hand or inventory, it will repair itself one durability every second, consuming the player's soul energy. The amount is specified under "itemsRepairSouls" in goety.toml. If the player does not have the specified amount of soul energy, the tool will not repair itself.
Weapon
If a mob or player is struck with a dark tool, they will receive the Wane effect for 60 ticks(3 seconds).
Killing a mob or player with a dark tool will yield x1.5 more soul energy than normal. This stacks with Soul Eater enchantment.
Enchantments
Dark tools can receive all the normal enchantments associated with their tool type.
Dark tools enchantability by default is 20(less then gold but better then netherite).
Ritual Ingredient
Dark shovels and pickaxes are also used as an ingredient for making Philosopher's Maces.
